Overview
The incredibly potent toxins that Clostridium botulinum produces are used to create the protein from botulinum toxin known as Botox. This is the same toxin responsible for botulism. Botox is a toxin, but it can be beneficial when doctors use it in the right ways and in small amounts. It can be used for medical and cosmetic purposes. Read More
Why might I need this procedure?
Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures, which helps people look younger and feel better by reducing wrinkles and fine lines. Preventative therapy uses Botox to treat wrinkles before they appear, whereas most people wait until they see wrinkles before getting treatment. You may effectively stop wrinkles from forming by injecting Botox into the muscles that frequently form creases before they even begin. These areas are typically around the lips, eyes, and brows. When you first notice fine lines starting to appear, you should think about Botox. Preventative Botox may be the answer to keeping the early fine lines from developing into wrinkles.
What does this procedure entail?
Following a thorough cleansing of your face, a tiny needle will be used to inject botulinum toxin into the muscles in your face. You may need injections in various locations depending on the area being treated. Botulinum toxin is injected into your skin or muscles in minimal doses by one of our staff members at Restore using a fine needle. It takes a very short time to receive Botox. Anaesthesia won't be required. The quantity of injections required is influenced by various indications, including the size of the area that needs to be treated.
What can I expect after this procedure?
The toxin doesn't start working for twenty-four to seventy-two hours. The full benefits can take up to five days to manifest. Depending on the course of treatment, the benefits could last between three and twelve months. Regular follow-up injections are required to maintain effectiveness. One to two weeks will pass before you stop feeling any tightness or heaviness that you may be experiencing following the procedure. When dynamic lines can be seen with movement again, Botox usually starts to wear off and should be re-administered.
